No better than a $5 flashlight

This has the same illumination as a bookmark light you can buy at [...] for < $10.

This lamp is great for use with a computer to provide directional lighting at your work station. Unfortunately, it will not light up an entire work area like a traditional desk lamp. The LED lighting on this lamp is very directional where the bulb is pointed. --The LAMPS PLUS Team
