I bought two of these lights to place in an L-shaped hallway upstairs. I ended up placing one upstairs and one directly below it downstairs. the glass looks like burnt ashes when lit. Not so much amber in color as the photo shows. the crackle finish cast a shadow on the ceiling that is wide and magnificent. This is not a lot of lighting, but the color of the glass illuminates the ceiling. My son calls this fixture the Black Sun because it does look like clear black ashes when lit. It is an understatement of its beauty and simplicity. This is an expensive upgrade of stock hall lighting. It is an exquisite replication of a box store flush mount light. I have two but am considering purchasing one more for balance.
