Lamp is very unstable on base. Area around bulb gets very warm.
I bought this to fill void behind a chair in our office. Having purchased a similar lamp a few years ago (the Mission Arc with Mica Shade floor lamp) I was drawn to this lamp. I'm very happy with it. I unpacked it and put it together by myself in 10 or 15 minutes. No tools needed. If there were directions with it, I didn't need to look at them. The lamp is sturdy with a heavy base. The shade is adjustable so I could put it at the angle I wanted. It gives off a warm glow and provides just the right amount of light for reading. It's not a lamp that will illuminate an entire room. It's mainly for reading and such.Images/Videos shared by: Julie
Using to add contemporary flair to room Good height for reading lamp
It is good design, just flimsy workmenship
This lamp looks beautiful in the photos. In fact it seems like it has that potential. Our first shade arrived dented and cracked. The replacement shade, while intact, has gaps where the mica panels insert in the top ring of the shade. It's possible to move them a bit and decrease the gaps but it's still tacky. Perhaps not all of shades are like that. The base came with a notice of "Caution" to watch for a harp and finial that are "packed in a separate clear plastic bag". These parts are also shown on the assembly diagram. Therefore, I thought I was missing the parts since they weren't included. Turns out, there is no need for the parts I was cautioned to watch for. Too bad I didn't know that until I had spent time hunting for the parts and contacting lamps plus.
Great in a corner or next to an easy chair. Excellent reading light.
I eventually had to discard the lamp; loved the colors but its' poor construction detracted from, rather than added to, my living room. I still need a good reading lamp!
Us in dark corner mostly for reading. It is a little tipsy.
This is the second time I've purchased this lamp. It's exactly what I'm looking for and fits my decor perfectly. Unfortunately, the construction is poor and the base separates from the main part of the lamp. I went as far as having the first lamp welded at the base. The second one I purchased was just as flimsy, and the threads were stripped so I was unable to even put the lamp together.
The shade is quite a bit larger than the picture suggests: 18" diameter. The mica shade is held on with bendable metal tabs which looks a little cheap. Otherwise a nice lamp and better than anything I could find in the local retail outlets. I am keeping it. Additional note: the lamp came with one screw missing but the Lamp Plus team sent me a replacement very quickly and without any fuss. A+ for customer service!
Over a sofa as reading light
Our family room needed some color as well as functional illumination. This lamp is perfect. Plus, it is so unique, it is almost a piece of art.
We have a sitting area in our bedroom with two reclining chairs. We are using the lamps for reading, and to light part of our huge bedroom. The color of the lamps match perfect.
They light up my flower garden and walkways.
It is a nice piece, which illuminates the dark corner of a sectional couch. The couch is needed to help the lamp stand up. The pole's do not stay securely fastened together.
