Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I use my lamp in my living room, which had no good place to read. It also illuminates areas like my bookcases when I'm searching for a book, and the complexities of operating hi-tech electronics. Lights can also be trained on ceiling for wash-lighting, and above paintings and pictures, at the same time they light the reading area. I waited over 2 years to afford this lamp, I knew it would be wonderful.
