Poorly constructed

I bought this lamp as a reading light for a dimly lit family room. It truly did the job, although the light was so bright and cool, it was like having a shop light! Unfortunately I wasted my money on the lamp. The pole is in two pieces, with not enough thread to hold the two pieces together. Also, the pole did not stay screwed into the base and we had to keep gluing it to keep it from wobbling. Finally, the two pieces of the pole broke in two and the whole lamp crashed to the floor. The globe is way too heavy for the pole and base.

Not well built

This lamp looks nice, but it was difficult to put together. Like many floor lamps, the pole was divided into three parts which screwed together. The screw area was not manufactured properly. The rings were not deep enough or aligned properly. It literally took one hour of trying over and over again to get the three pieces screwed together so that they were straight. But, they were not strong. The center area bends if the lamp is moved. I do not want to try to package this up again and return it, so I am living with this, but beware.

I never realized how desperately I needed this light until it was in my house! It has added more than just 'light', it has added joy to my life as I am able to enjoy reading, writing and painting again due to it's brilliance!

I purchased the lamp at the outlet. I liked the style. However, it didn't have a bulb and they didn't have any where I purchased it. The salesperson said the bulbs were easy to find and probably cheaper somewhere else. I tried regular 4-pin compact flourescent bulbs (cheaper but still expensive for a light bulb!) but they don't work. I didn't realize how EXPENSIVE and SPECIALIZED the bulbs are. [...] I checked the OTT-Light website and I'm not even sure they make the 25watt replacement bulbs any more! I'm disappointed and felt like the salesperson should have known better.
