This light kit doesn't produce a huge amount of light but it is definitely good enough for dining at night and gatherings. We have two of the Casa Vieja outdoor tropical style fans we attached them to. We've been very happy with both and the clear hammered glass does look far better than a simple clear glass. It gives a little more of an upscale look to you area.

This light kit can be used with several decors... from tropical to rustic and anywhere in between. Emits plenty of light for outdoors. Can be used indoors but may not be a primary light source for a large area. Highly Recommended! Be sure this matches your existing ceiling fan. That is difficult because monitors show colors differently. Lamps Plus does offer ceiling fans with this light kit which is awesome as well.
