Very pleased with this fountain. The slate plate, light & ball rolling sold me on this design. It does NOT splatter any water & is easy to maintain. If motor gets noisy, spray with WD-40. Perfect size for my family room. Thinking of buying another for my daughter & her husband for Christmas gift.............

I use it in my contemporary kitchen. It fits perfectly with the decor. It's definitely bigger than I expected but it is also better than I expected. This makes my fourth fountain and I LOVE it !!!!

This is a very elegant and attractive tabletop fountain that features both light and motion. When I received the package from Lamps Plus, the slate "collar" piece arrived broken.[...] Newbies having trouble keeping the ball rolling should note that the pump motor needs to be turned up to maximum, and giving the ball a polish with bleach should aid the rotation. I have discovered from previous experience that slate fountains are more durable than metal fountains, and I expect to enjoy the Portola for many years. In all, a very nice accent piece and a great value for the money.
