This looks great, but the legs need constant adjusting. I tried to adjust the shade (constantly tilting) and snapped the entire bulb fixture off the top. I can't believe I spent the money on this, seeking a replacement. Again, this Looks great, but, flimsy.

I love the look of this lamp. It is exactly what we were looking for. The tripod style combined with the wood give it a nice, unique look. Be aware this piece is very lightweight. Our cat brushed up against it, causing it to move. We are keeping it in a corner to make sure it does not accidentally get knocked over. Also, the cord looks slightly awkward as it comes down from the center pole, making it very visible.

I am returning this product. It is not a bad looking lamp, but it is not at all sturdy. The caps on top of the legs that hold lamp together look like brass, but are made of plastic that was broken either during manufacture or delivery. Also, the small brass arms that hold the lower center together are assembled and manufactured poorly. I am picky about quality, and this is a nice looking lamp but quite flimsy. All that it would have taken to make it much better is about $5 worth of better materials during manufacture. I am pretty disappointed.

So much BETTER than expected

Everything about this purchase was 'way better than expected! First, I received my shipping SO QUICKLY--within just a day or two of ordering. Than, based on reviews, I was prepared to expend a fair amount of effort assembling the lamp stand and a lot of effort assembling the shade (a shade that I probably wouldn't like much.) Wrong! Not only is the shade quite handsome, but it was already assembled and well-packaged so it was in perfect shape. The only assembly needed for the lamp stand was to extend the legs and tighten the screws. Took me a few moments to comprehend that I needed to unscrew and remove the round doohickey that keeps the shade from wobbling, THEN put the shade on and screw the doohickey back in firmly. But once I figured that out-- voila! I was prepared to have to do something to make the cord less visible, since some had commented that it hangs straight down from the center of the tripod. But the cord is almost entirely hidden by a narrow brass tube that matches the rest of the metal parts. The lowest part of the cord isn't all that noticeable, but even that could easily be improved on by wiring or taping it behind one of the tripod legs. (I put a big green plant below the lamp to fill the central space.) Another advantage-- unlike other tripod lamps I looked at, this one takes a 150 watt bulb, so is usable for reading (or knitting!) The wood is rich looking, excellent in my Craftsman style front room. It would probably look fine with other decors as well. Bottom line: pretty much a perfect purchase! Above and beyond perfect-- it was on sale!
