I've been looking for a replacement light fixture for this area for years. The existing fixture was a HD traditional etched glass '80's thing. It clashed with our '67 open floor plan home. The location is over a split stairway inside the front door. I wanted it to illuminate the area without glaring into the upper room. This was worth waiting for. It fits the style of the house, is just the right size, illuminates the stairs and entry very well but because of the downward cast of the light it doesn't throw a glare on our TV upstairs. I could have easily installed this very light weight fixture(had it not been over the stairway). It took about 5 minutes to install.
