The color is a lighter blue than shown in the picture. Night light illuminates the base nicely. I use it on a contemporary design glass topped table. The 150w bulb is great for reading.

Please consider changing the clear night light with a painted baby blue one (found at [@]). It shows off the blue glass so much better. I felt the clear bulb distracted from the glass. Too much glare or something. This lamp is so modern and unique. I love it. Love leaving the night light on when watching movies in the evening. If the house catches on fire I'm grabbing my lamp!!! Lamps Plus is great to work with. I had to make a return and was offered free shipping on my return. I reallly appreciate being appreciated!!!
