Beautiful light, at first I wanted to install the hanging version over my dining room table until I discovered that it will not work with vaulted ceilings at all, after much thinking and fear that it would be too much bling I decided to get the short version and install it over my kitchen table and it turned out great. Everyone comments on how nice it looks.

This light is absolutely gorgeous! However, it's definitely a light that needs to be placed in a large room because it is SO bright. We have it in our bedroom and had to put it on a dimmer switch because it was entirely too bright for the room. However, now that we have it on a dimmer its perfect! it's not hard to put together, just alot of pieces so it takes some time but certainly should not a deterrant from the choosing to purchase. It's a bit pricey but its worth it becuase its not just a light; it's a piece of art! You will love it!!

One bedroom in a house I bought had a broken fan light in it. It isn't a big room, but it was really dark. My 20 year old daughter picked this light for it's brightness & modern design. Now that it's up, I have to admit that I like it too. It provides a VERY bright light that may be a bit harsh for some people.

This lamp is perfect for giving flair to a room. We installed it in my daughter's living room with plans to buy the pendant version of the same lamp. It is modern, but not geometric or sterile in design.

love the light, and several of my friends have purchased it as well.
unfortuantly, i ordered it, didn't install for 6 months. which would be ok, if the transformer hadn't gone out after 6 months of operation and it was then out of warranty ... and I need to spend $40 for new transformer, deinstall the light, repair and then re install.... bummer

Will need a little time to install. It's quite heavy and the stars glass need a little wiggling to put in. Just be carefull. Once it's up and running, you will love it and all the hard work will be worth every minute as you will get compliments from every guest. And everytime you walk in the room, you will enjoy it.

It's not hard to put together but with so many parts it does take a little time. It took me about an hour to assemble and install the light. It didn't require any special tools. It's got some weight to it so it might make it a lot easier to wire up if you suspend the lamp with a rope while making the electrical connections. Easy as pie to wire up. The light is dimmable with a basic, cheap dimmer.

This is a very unique light. We had been looking for months for just the right lighting for our dining area but everything was so plain until we saw this one. The cost was high but we waited until it went on sale. We love it! We get so many comments on how beautiful it looks. This light has to be on a dimmer switch because it is very bright.

I absolutely LOVE this light fixture. I read other comments from users who recommended a dimmer switch. Since we are using this in our nursery and will have late night feedings, we definitely needed this. I was able to install the light fixture with the help of a friend, but I have installed light fixtures a couple times before. It depends on your own comfort if you can do this or would prefer an electrician.
We were able to buy a standard incandescent/ halogen dimmer switch from a hardware store and easily installed that ourselves too. This light is so gorgeous!!
The only problems that we had were pushing the glass 'stars' on. I accidentally broke one of the points off from pushing too hard! We used plyers to bend in a couple of the metal 'prongs' to reduce the amount of pressure required to push them on. Other than that, the light was a great buy for us!

I installed this fixture in my retro/modern kitchen above the eat-in booth. All of my appliances and fixtures are steel and chrome, the light fits in perfectly. It did take two of us to get in installed (one to hold it and one to do the wiring). The fixture was easy to install. Everyone that come through the kitchen loves it. I did put the lamp on a dimmer as recommended and I am glad I did, this light is bright! I love, love, love this light. I would recommend this product to anyone.

My son installed this ceiling light. He was having problems because of a basket that slips into the ceiling plate. You need to hold it while also wiring the lamp. However, there's a little trick which can overcome this: with the basket in place, run scotch tape around the top to hold it in place, leaving hands free to do the wiring. After that, it's rather routine.

After many trips back and forth to the Lampsplus local store for a dimmer switch, and paying $100 for a Lightolier 425W electronic low voltage dimmer, when my electrician hooked up the fixture and put the first bulb in, he said 'turn it on' to make sure it was installed correctly, amazingly the light went on and dimmed perfectly with the standard dimmer switch, cheap toggle slider, about $20.00. This after I made 2 trips for first a 260W electronic low volt dimmer and then back for a 425W dimmer, didn't need either. [...]

I was looking for table lamps for my office when I stumbled across this ceiling light. Bought it on impulse and it was the best light purchase I have made. Tried to install it myself, but it had too many wires relative to the number in the ceiling, so I opted to hire an electrician. Even he commented about how cool the light looks.
I took the advice of other reviewers and put a dimmer switch in. When it is on full, it is like the sun is on the ceiling. But, it is SO cool on dim.
If you are considering this light, go for it. You will not regret it!

The picture does not do this fixture justice!! We put the light up in the lounge of our newly renovated house and it makes such a statement! I have this in my bedroom. It's beautiful and it really fits the size of the room (15x15). It looks great and it is bright. I ordered the dimmer but have not installed it yet. One of the bulbs was bad but they sent a few extras [...]My son and I put it up in about 1/2 hour. I love it!
