We installed this light in our dining room today. I love the look of it, even when it's turned off - light, airy, and modern. When on, it does have a strange purple glow at the top of the fixture (visible through the metal mesh between the fixture and the ceiling - another reviewer mentioned this), but I'll learn to ignore it. The diagrams provided for installation were not very helpful, but my husband is handy and we figured it out. You do use four anchors to screw the crossbars of the fixture to the ceiling (in addition to the screws that attach it to the junction box), but they pulled out of the ceiling during installation and we had to take the whole thing down, remove the anchors, install better anchors (that we had), and re-install the whole thing, which was challenging because we had already attached all of the bubble strings and removed the protective film that said which string went where, so we did not remove them. I recommend that you use some good, expanding anchors of your own the first time around. (When the anchors pulled out of the ceiling a bit, you couldn't get the fixture to be flush against the ceiling, and the gap and escaping purplish light did not look good.) Now that the light is securely installed, it looks great. Compared to our old drum shade, this light opens up the space, doesn't block the mirror, and makes the room seem taller because it draws your eye upward.

The bubbles illuminate with kind of a rainbow affect. I highy recommend a dimmer switch because it's nice to be able to control how bright the light is, especially over the dining table. I am so happy with this purchase. I looked and looked and found ones that were much more expensive, but exactly the same.

Hanging over the staircase to the lower level. It's beautiful! Everyone seems to love it also. I would have given it five stars, but I have to admit that there is one thing that bothers me, although others seem not to notice. The back illumination in the mounted portion of the fixture has a strange glow. The upside is that the fixture is so beautiful, no one else notices... I guess it is true, we are our own worst critic. Knowing what I paid for the fixture, no problem having that bother me. Great value., honestly, I had been looking for just the right thing to put over the staircase, and anything I looked at was $1500. or more. This is better than what I found anywhere. Definitely a great purchase, just beware of the glow and get over it!
