My wife and I are toward the end of a kitchen renovation and we had grown tired of the boring flush-mount ceiling lights you tend to find in most homes and in the local big-box hardware stores. And while our kitchen is slowly becoming an updated blend of modern and traditional the European designed hanging Floris Lamp was the perfect addition for us. It continues to provide plenty of light (taking 3 easy to replace standard light bulbs). And while it wasn't the easiest light to install (Honestly it's our first cable hanging light) The hanging cables did allow us to raise it higher to provide head clearance while still leaving us with an elegant lighting solution. And once we got the hang of how the cables and built in "release/lock system" works it was easy to hang the drum shade evenly. The Glass drum shade itself is a nice touch and perfectly balances the illumination with the frosted grid pattern. It lights up our kitchen so well we rarely have to use the under-cabinet lighting! And while our kitchen is full of brushed metal accents as well as appliances, the chrome details on the drum shade as well as the canopy are a welcome source of beautifully bright and reflective details. This light adds a bright modern touch to our new kitchen and has quickly become the most complimented addition with our guests and we recommend it to anyone looking for a touch of modern elegance and bright lighting in their home! And as a tip, it's easy to make this light blend in with your color scheme just by changing the Temperature of the light bulbs used. Our kitchen has warm color countertops and cabinets so we used 2900K light bulbs. If your space has more gray and bright white in it, use bulbs that are 3500K or more. Enjoy!
