Very nice, but poor fitting

This is a sturdy, good looking lamp with great light output. But my particular unit had bad fitting. I had to replace both glass pieces with those from a floor unit because they were warped, too small, or had unfinished rims. The lamp also leaned, which I corrected with a shim. And the light switch is crooked. But I would still recommend the lamp, just inspect the fitting of the glass pieces closely. Even though it is sold as a European design with an Italian name, it is made in China, so that's the kind of quality you get.

I bought this lamp for my living room. It gives great light which is not too harsh and has three useful light setting. The glass globe is quite large (22"). It is not a lamp you put in the corner that will go unnoticed. My living room area is 20 ft by 12 ft. In rooms smaller than this lamp might appear to be too big.

I bought this lamp primarily as a sewing lamp; I have 10 foot ceilings in a large room so it's easy for light to get swallowed up. This lamp is really perfect for my needs. It also beautifully made and beautiful to look at. The heavy base makes it very secure. I love the four CFL lamps so I can dim it if I choose. If it weren't so pricey I'd have bought two!
