Got this light today and installed it myself and I'm definitely no handyman. Just needed someone to help with holding it while I connected the electrical wires, but other than that it was pretty straight forward. Heeded other poster's warning about not over tightening and cracking the glass cylinder. It's a nice modern look and very bright which is what I was looking for. I have it on a dimmer so I can vary the brightness. It casts a pretty shadow on the ceiling.

We installed this fixture in our newly remodeled entranceway (that's open to the living/dining room space). The modern look is a real conversation starter. The only downside was the fragility of the glass cylinders and the tricky installation of them (if you overtighten even a little, you will crack the glass). The good news is they include an extra cylinder standard with the product.
