Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The lighting is very limited and there are several aspects of the construction which could be improved upon: the "slots" which hold the cable don't do so very well and not very practically taking into consideration where the switch is. The switch could have been more elegantly incorporated into the design. The glass head only nestles into the frame- there is no device which secures it in place. However the overall concept and design is very stunning, and the wide base, although seems to take a lot of space, doubles as an area where you can keep pins, bands, etc. in.
