At first glance the it gives the apperance of being heavy. On the contrary, it is relatively light and easy to install. We did it ourselves. By buying different glass urns you can change the look.

mounting hardwear needs instructions.base plate seems to be to light to secure fixture.aligning fixture mounting screws most difficult.however,it is beautiful and well worth the trouble.

Installed over kitchen island. Looks fantastic and lights my whole kitchen. Using 4 60watt bulbs, might change to 40watt. Was difficult to install because the screws that hung down were too long, and after struggling forever to get them through the holes in the top of the light, I had to take it down and start all over. Figured a way to shorten them, by adding a nut above the mounting bracket, but the one below kept losening and the bolt would move around. Finally got it up an hour later ( and a few &*#% words) It's a good thing I have patience. In the end, I LOVE IT!! It finished off my total remodel.

My husband installed the light without a hitch. The four lights are perfect for our kitchen (shines over the sink, stove, kitchen table and refrigerator). The traditional light goes beautifully with the coffee colored traditional cabinets and black granite. I had looked for a light fixture for months and kept coming back to this light. I wanted a more "furniture" type of look than just a plain look or can lights. It really looks good!
