I use this lamp beside my living room chair. I use it for reading and to use my laptop pc. It gives clear illumination. It looks very stylish and awesome.
We bought this lamp on the east coast in 2006, and are estatic to find a match online now on the west coast in 2013. This is a great, heavy, classy lamp. The gold and blues are gorgeous when lit. It worked very well in our 1920s craftsman home in a historic area in SC, and it also works well in our mountain home in the Pacific NW. Timeless and beautiful. Well made, and has withstood two moves, including cross-country.
Words cannot adequately describe how beautiful this lamp truly is. From its colorful pyramid shade to its stepped border around the bottom, it is definitely a conversation piece. We placed this piece on a Smith and Watson desk and it's just stunning! We absolutely love it!
Our room is dark so we use two torchieres and two table lamps. The torchieres are dimmable which allows us to create the atmosphere we want: From party bright to wine and conversation cool.
