I use the product on a glass top end table in a living room of earth tones that has two pieces of brass and black iron furniture. The lamp gives a soft glow or can be used for a reading lamp with the right bulb.

I returned these lamps because the shades were darker than pictures online and they would not be suitable for my living room which is quite large and needs light. I did not want to buy different shades which would add to the expense.
