Perfect over the bed reading lamps

We purchased this fixure from Lamps Plus in Oct 2007 and had it installed above our bedroom headboard. We joke about how it saves our marriage. But really it's good because it allows us to each to have our own reading light, and if one wants to sleep, the other can really turn it down low and redirect it so that it doesn't bother the sleeper. We also directed it upwards for diffused light off the ceiling. The other good thing is that for a goose-neck design, it has really held up well, espeically because we do redirect the light in all directions on a daily basis. Granted we were gentle with it, knowing that the stiffness of the gooseneck might not last, but it has lasted quite well. Unfortunately, after an electrical storm, one of the lights stopped working and six months later the other started to flicker and eventually died too. We confirmed that was the problem with an electrician -- not that the bulbs just died. So... on balance we really liked this light and I was shopping to replace it. Unfortunately it costs 50% more than it did in 2007! I'm hoping that LampsPlus will give us some consideration (I don't know what the warranty is). I would give it 5 stars but for the electrical failure.

The flexible neck makes it easy to put the light where it is needed in the room: sometimes a reading light -- other times an accent light.
