I wanted a more contemporary look in my living room so I bought two of these lamps one on each end of the couch and they look great. I'm also thinking of getting one for my husbands office, they are very versatile. Nice linen look shade.

We got two of these for our mid-century living room, and we love them. The shade is elegant: it has a little texture to it; it looks like linen. The lamp adds grace to the room without being a focal point. The only drawback is that the poles are not perfectly straight (we ended up bending them a bit to make them straighter, and now the curve is hardly noticeable.) Overall, I'd say this is a great lamp for the price. (We got them for half off. I wouldn't buy them at full price; wait for a sale.)

I am currently using this product in my bedroom to lighten up a dark corner. It uses 2 bulbs which provide a decent amount of light. However,I would have preferred a dimming mechanism instead of on/off pull switches. Nevertheless, it's still a good buy --if purchased on sale or with a discount!

I love this lamp. I wasn't certain it would work in my living room, but I was having a very difficult time getting more light into this dark, semi-traditional/craftsman-style room. Everything just didn't work right - too fussy or just plain all too much. This lamp is simplicity itself; clean, good light -- the shade is a really elegant-looking white on white textured pattern - almost like raw silk, which it probably isn't, but has that feel. The lamp is just a joy to look at for its simplicity. It doesn't detract from any of the other 'stronger' elements in the room, of which there are already very many. And yet the lamp isn't nothing either; it's just quiet and a little bit elegant among its "betters". I liked it so much after I brought it home I quick called the store and had them set another one aside. I'm really glad that we have two now in the living room too. Everyone else here was quite skeptical and I'm rarely this decisive in buying anything. But it just made my heart soar, and only I knew how painful it had been trying to find a lamp that would fit in to this complicated room. We needed more light still and I am really, really happy that I bought this second one. This is not a lamp that makes a "statement", it is a lamp that sits very comfortably in a room that already has its character laid out. It does its job, illuminating well and complementing everything else. It is not tall, but the right height to set beside a couch on which you might be sitting and reading. It's a perfect, warm, sitting-room reading lamp.

I have a basement art studio without much natural light. I use a standing natural-spectrum light for close-up work, but wanted broader lighting for the room as a whole, both to make it easier to survey tools, supplies, books, but also just to give the room a warmer feel. This lamp definitely does it.
