Poor Boom Arm Design
By Elaine from Colorado on 11/3/2010
Pros:
Area of Illumination, Good Size, Artistic Design, Sturdy, Easy Assembly
Describe Yourself:
Practical
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I ordered this lamp twice, thinking that the lever on the boom arm that locks the lamp into place at a certain height was just a one-time lemon. But the second replacement lamp had the same problem. The Lamp end is heavier than the counterweight on the other end, and even when the lever is tight, the lamp end of the boom arm droops down and doesn't stay up. This is a poorly designed lamp, especially for the price.

Assembly was easy enough. Bulb cover has a hold down screw that must not be tightened too far or the cover will not pivot. Has made a metallic warming pinging sound for the first 5 minutes of being on ... hope that fades out soon. Very stylish and attractive. Great for reading.
