This lamp was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to illuminate a dark corner of a home office between a desk and a closet. The lamp is not top heavy with the acrylic top shade. This was a big plus for me as I occasionally need to move it to get into the closet. The side lights provide ample illumination for work at the desk. Not much cons: Top light is not 3 - way, plus no central switch for side lights.
