This lamp was one of my Birthday presents from my husband. I wanted to use it as an accent/decorator lamp in the main bedroom to light up a dark area and I had the perfect spot for it. But the package arrived at the same time as my desk lamp gave out so I set this lamp up beside my monitor and......I LOVE IT!!!! Just the right amount of light, a soft warm glow and it looks good on my glass desk. Now I'm torn, where do I use it, my desk or the bedroom? I just might have to get another one. :) As others have mentioned, the shade seems flimsy, but for me the real problem is the little ball finial. I'm going to replace it with something easier to handle and with a more attractive look. A very beautiful looking lamp and a very nice gift!

Very beautiful accent lamp. The glass shade emits a very pretty,subdued colored light, but not good for reading. I have set it in a place where there is minimal vibration and up high where children cannot touch it. The lamp shade is somewhat wobbly and is made from real leaded glass so it is potentially toxic. You should wash your hands well with soap and water after touching lamp, i.e. after assembly and when changing bulb. Would recommend this lamp to friends who do not have children.
