Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

We bought this light for our 1923 San Francisco house. It fit nicely with the stained wood trim and bookshelves, and provides sufficient light. The metal and glass details look quite elegant, though the glass is more beige (and less amber) than what is pictured here. I would have rated it 5-stars, except that the glass is translucent enough that when the light is turned off, you can see the lightbulbs (this is less conspicuous when the light is turned on). Installation was straightforward.
