We purchased this lamp for our living room, primarily as a reading light. The shade colors are fantastic; the images on line give you a good idea but don't do it justice. The stand has very nice detail as well. There is some minor assembly required, which was quick and straightforward. We have received many compliments on this lamp and expect that it will be one of those items that gets passed down.
