This is a museum-quality, fully assembled, model replica of the Swedish warship the Wasa. After sinking less than a mile into its maiden voyage in 1628, the ship was raised from the sea in 1961 and is now a popular tourist attraction. Using historical photographs, drawings, and the original plans, master craftsmen spend hundreds of hours hand-crafting each design to scale with high-grade wood using the plank on frame construction method. Before leaving the workshop, each model undergoes a thorough quality control process. Details include three decks, half row of cannons on each side of the ship, brass statues and ornaments, large masts secured with hand-knotted and tied riggings and lines, hand-stitched linen sails, metal anchors, and wooden cabin, and lifeboats. This exclusive edition features a uniquely identifiable laser-cut hull serial number.
