Serene sights and sounds

The fountain works nicely. The concealed light on the top is a very nice feature as some of these similar fountains have the light protruding out from the top which to me is gawdy. It is simple and elegant and worked perfectly for my great room decor-adds wonderful ambience to candle light dinners as well as quiet converstaions with a special someone on the couch. The pump is a little loud as you can certainly hear it running, but the sound of the trickling water is also prominent and after a while, the continuous pump sound gets tuned out as "white noise" and all you hear is the peaceful flow of water. The nice thing about this type of fountain where the water flows down a wall of slate, rather than a spout pouring water into a pool below, is that the latter, sounds like someone at the urinal, while this one sounds like what most people want to hear in a fountain-a calm flow of water, trickling over rocks. As far as the set up/installation-read my comments in the other section. The instructions were not very clear and the pictures were tiny so was not straightforward and easy, but a somewhat handy and bright person could figure it out fine. Took about 45 minutes (and I was in no rush) to get it together and up and running. Be sure to clean it well before running it and remove the little styrofoam bits that break off into it from the packing or else this will clog up the pump and hose. Also be sure to buy the scale/deposit remover to keep your fountain clean and running smoothly. Also, I read a review on another site regarding this same fountain-it was the only review I could find and so I decided to write one as well. In that review, the fountain had a piece of broken slate that led to a leak in the fountain. The owner repaired it, but another leak sprung up. So be sure to check for leaks around and behind the fountain once it is running and hopefully a simple fix with sealant will be all that you need to prevent you from having to send it back. I have not found a leak in mine, but if I do, I will write another review. Overall, this fountain was perfect for my needs and I am pleased with my purchase.
