The award allowed five recipients to be able to attend the conference for free, and gave each of them a stipend for travel expenses. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lampsplus.com\/\">Lighting retailer Lamps Plus<\/a> is a platinum sponsor of the Conference and scholarship, marking the second time the company has participated in the event, the first being in 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\"> \n\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/omGhE37yQ6k?si=5VE_oWX2Hk478R3z\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Design Bloggers Conference Scholarship 2018<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The five scholarship recipients represent a diverse cross-section of talented new interior designers from all around the country. The winners were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/daydh85\/\">Dayna Hairston<\/a> from&nbsp;Raleigh, North Carolina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/sarahmontgomerydesign\/\">Sarah Montgomery<\/a> of Chicago, Illinois.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/lot35homes\/\">Morgan Motsinger<\/a> of Tillamook, Oregon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/kfogara\/\">Kevin Ogara<\/a> of Atlanta, Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/chansaeraedesigns\/\">Sarah Wilson<\/a> of Bowie, Maryland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Three veteran interior designer mavens acted as scholarship judges and help select the winning recipients. They were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dee Murphy &#8211;&nbsp;the designer and stylist behind the <a href=\"http:\/\/murphydeesign.com\/\">Murphy Deesign interior design firm<\/a>, Dee is also the editor of the Murphy Deesign blog which covers fashion, lifestyle, travel, decor and family. She&nbsp;was a Lamps Plus Design Bloggers Conference scholarship recipient in 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Laurie Laizure &#8211; founder of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.interiordesigncommunity.com\/\">Interior Design Community<\/a>, a thriving site where those working in the interior design and home decor industry can connect to learn and grow their businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vern Yip &#8211; award winning celebrity interior designer and television personality, Vern runs his own design company in Atlanta, Georgia, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vernyip.com\/index.html\">Vern Yip Designs<\/a>, has a popular website, and is noted columnist and television host.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Noted Lamps Plus CEO and President Dennis Swanson, &#8220;We are thrilled to be the scholarship sponsor of the 2018 Design Bloggers Conference. It\u2019s not every day you get to be part of such a great experience for designers. We hope this collaboration with the design community provides the opportunity for the recipients to connect with others and grow their businesses.
