Pillow Sizes and Shapes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The right size pillow really depends on the size of the sofa, chair or bed that it’s going to be placed on. Pillows usually range somewhere from 18 to 24 inches across.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A traditional pillow look is to use several large square pillows at the end of a sofa to create an eye-pleasing composition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For a more eclectic or modern style, try using contemporary pillow rectangles and circle pillows, or other shapes that are out of the ordinary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pillow Trim<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Trims and tassles work well in a traditional setting. Braided and cord trim is frequently used on smaller pillows for a dash of style.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make sure the braid or trim is in keeping with the main color of the pillow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For more contemporary rooms, avoid pillows with ornate trim and use shapes, colors and fabrics to make your design impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
