A large&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lampsplus.com\/products\/wall-art\/\">wall art design&nbsp;<\/a>works well as a background. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No windows. No mirrors. Avoid glass framed pictures and other\nreflective surfaces. This will minimize the light reflecting throughout the\nroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The focus should be on you. Keep it simple and uncluttered. A\nbookcase filled with knick-knacks and small objects can draw attention away\nfrom you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:23px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Testing,&nbsp;1, 2, 3 &#8211; Camera Set-Up<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Use your computer\u2019s camera to preview how you look on screen. Make\ncertain that plants or other objects do not appear to be growing out of the top\nof your head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Use risers&nbsp;or&nbsp;a stack of sturdy books&nbsp;to get your\ncomputer\u2019s camera as close to eye level as possible. This enables you to appear\nto maintain eye contact throughout the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many web conferencing applications allow you to record yourself.\nDo a test to&nbsp;confirm that you look and sound your best. Indoor light has a different color\ntemperature than outdoor light. Close your window blinds and drapes. Outdoor\nlight casts an unflattering blue hue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lampsplus.com\/products\/desk-lamps\/type_adjustable\/\">adjustable&nbsp;desk lamp<\/a>&nbsp;with dimming options makes a great primary source light; this is also known as a key light. Choose a desk lamp or bulb that is rated at 2700K &#8211; 3200K color temperature. This Kelvin range will produce a warmer white light.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Place the light\u00a0at a 45-degree angle to either your left or right (whichever is your good side) and at eye level. Don\u2019t hold the phone in your hand and look down.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Connect your phone to a charger. Calls often last longer than\nexpected and having your battery die in the middle of a conference call is bad\nbusiness etiquette.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are new&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lampsplus.com\/products\/table-lamps\/type_usb\/\">USB table lamp designs<\/a>&nbsp;with built-in USB ports. Plug your phone in to charge it, then&nbsp;use the light to enhance your appearance.
