Excellent Purchase
Totally love this fan. Had to show all who entered my home. Looks stunning - just the right amount of style. I wanted a fan that was attractive but not ornate and a color/design that complimented the items/colors in my bedroom. This fan fit the bill. The colors are fantastic, including the teak blades with dark edging. The Scavo glass bowl is beautiful too. I wanted something that had some color vs a stark white. Lastly, this fan is very quiet, which is important to me.

Installation took me a bit longer than usual - mainly due to screw installation and long downrod. A screw driver with a magnetized head helps (I didn't have one).

Overall, I'm completely satisfied.

PS. Item shipped free to my house in two days - awesome!

Pros: Works in Both Directions, Range of Speeds, Circulates Air Well, Quiet

Best Uses: Air Circulation, Larger Rooms, Alternative to AC, Decorative

She's a beauty
This ceiling fan is a beauty! I'm always reluctant about purchases like this online, but this one did not disappoint--quite the opposite. The fan is large, bold, and elegant--a real eye-catcher. I bought a four-foot down-rod for it because of our high vaulted ceiling and it's perfect! It does have two dangling chains but they could always be cut off if you operate it from a wall switch. We could not be more pleased with this fan!

Pros: Range of Speeds, Quiet, Works in Both Directions, Circulates Air Well

Cons: Swinging Pull Chain

Best Uses: Decorative, Air Circulation

Not worth this price
Needed to replace a fan in our master bedroom. I wanted a high quality fan and after reading reviews of problems with many of the fans sold at big box stores, thought I’d try these folks. I planned to assemble and install myself since I’ve installed before and we had the existing wiring/ceiling bracket. The assembly/install instructions were poor – they were generic, contained several different instruction pamphlets/pages that were not relevant to this fan, and none of them looked like this fan. I realized this company makes various motors, light kits,.. that are made to be interchangeable on different fans. In some cases, the finish of the ‘kits’ did not match the finish on the motor and fan blade holders. Example: the glass cap and nut holding the bottom of the light shade in place did not match; they included 3 or 4 different finishes but none were a match. Additionally, there’s a small pop-out on the holder that does not even match the finish of the holder. A second issue was the undersized ceiling canopy that came with this fan – it was 5 in diameter – we have 8 ceiling fans in our home and all use a 6 in diameter canopy. Fortunately our old fan’s canopy matched the finish of this fan fairly well, so I was able to use that canopy and existing mounting bracket. If I had to use the smaller canopy and bracket that came with this fan I would have had a tough time fitting the receiver, and also had some drywall repair to patch the existing bracket hole. After installing the remote would not operate the fan. The instructions said to make sure to have fan motor on high before installing remote receiver, but I was unable to get fan to operate when wired w/o remote. Eventually I called store, and payed for installation service. Installer came out and jiggled with the on/off forward/reverse switch for a while to get to engage. Pros: fan works well for the 1 month we’ve had it. The installer was very nice and honest and agreed with my assessment of the assembly/installation manual. Cons: Cheap approach for a fan this price. I was not expecting a “one-kit-fits-all models” type of fan system, especially when the finishes don’t match. The skimping on the size of the canopy was disappointing, especially for this price. While we paid $230 for the basic fan, you throw in the downrod, remote, receiver, blades and light kit, and we were up to $395. Then you add $115 for the ‘installation’ which essentially I did myself and it’s over $500!
