Not what I was told
Salesman sold it as superior light to the normal soft white bulbs. Yeah if you can tolerate the glare factor

Pros: Bright

Cons: Gets Hot

Extremely hot!!
These light bulbs get ridiculously hot, and worried me about a potential for fire, so I removed them. They also caused my lights to make a very disturbing electrical hum when dimmed. Do not buy these.

Response from Lamps Plus
Hi Renata K., so sorry to hear about these issues you faced with your bulbs. We would like to confirm that halogen bulbs do get hot, and it should not be cause for concern as long as they are only left on for an appropriate amount of time. However, the fact that they are humming when dimmed is unusual, as these bulbs are in fact dimmable. This may be due to another issue regarding the fixture you are using them with. Please reach out to our customer service team via phone, email, or chat with more details so they can assist. Thank you.
