BEST ANSWER: The lampshade has a spider fitting.
Our floor lamp is 70 years old and does not have a harp. The old shade sits on top of glass bowl with spider fitting. We adjust the shade regularly! Will this shade work the same way? What other type of shade can you suggest?

BEST ANSWER: This shade will not fit on top of a glass. It is made to sit on a harp.

BEST ANSWER: Yes, shade is lined so you do not see the ribs. Turned out to be a nice looking shade and allows a lot of light to come through.

this was a replacement shade for an old Stiffel lamp. The spacers or bent part of the spider that centers the shade on the globe doesn't allow the shade to be centered. I am just too lazy to take it back.

Cons: The spacers on the spider aren't the right size

floor lamp
I purchased this shade to replace on old one for an antique floor lamp. I was hesitant buying something on line but it fit perfectly and looks great. The sashing on each spine also looks good. I would buy another shade without hesitation.

Lovely shade. I encountered a problem. The spider didn't fit over the existing globe of the lamp. Luckily, we found a smaller diameter globe [...] I understand why the size and location of the dip would be difficult to put in the lampshade description. Very satisfied with lampshade quality.
