Can you tell me where the on/off switch is for these? I don't see any buttons on the face of the lamps.

BEST ANSWER: Great lamps. They can be converted to non cord easily enough. But they do screw to the wall so you would have to get creative with securing them to an electrical box.
Can they be installed onto a regular wall or will it crack? Sorry, I never had these before. I have a new kitten and he broke my one lamp. I don't want any more plugs.

BEST ANSWER: Yes, lamps can be installed on a wall. If you are asking about it being hard wired, it is likely with an electrician.
The description lists a 60 watt bulb but comments here mention 43 watt bulb... which is correct?

BEST ANSWER: Per the manufacturer, this plug-in wall lamps 43 watts is the halogen equivalent to a 60 watt incandescent bulb that you may use. But you may use a regular 60 watt bulb as well (as stated on website).
Is the lighting bright enough for the living room to go on each side of the couch?

How far apart are the mounting screws on the base? I am trying to replace an old set of lamps that are already on the wall and would like to use the same holes, if possible.

The product details listed above say that the lamps use a 60 watt bulb, however when I received mine the sticker where the bulb gets screwed in says 43 watt maximum. Which is it?

BEST ANSWER: If using this wall lamp set with halogen bulbs, the maximum wattage is 43 watts. If using incandescent bulbs, the maximum wattage is 60 watts.
where is the on/off switch located on these scones? If I use a wire cover, will it be in the way of the switch if its on the cord?

BEST ANSWER: The switch is located on the lamp, under the bulb. I am using wire covers and they do not interfere with the switch. Really like the lamps!
I need a lamp switch. it looks like a threaded fob, they come in two sizes. I would probably need the large size as It is an older lamp. would you have what I need?

I want to run the cord through our wall to hide the wire. Does the wire come out of the bottom or the back of the back plate?

BEST ANSWER: The wire comes out of the bottom. The wire comes through the center of the edge of the wall plaque disk. If you want your wiring in the wall, get a wall lamp that is meant to be hard-wired and install it according to code.
When in the "closed" position (i.e. flat against the wall), how wide is the entire fixture?

BEST ANSWER: It’s up where the bulb screws in so it’s kind of a stretch when you’re trying to turn off the light when lying in bed. I had a set previously where the switch was in the mount which was a better solution.

BEST ANSWER: I don't recall if any bulbs were included but any standard size socket bulb can be used. LEDs should be the dimmable type.

One of the lamps in the pair arrived slanted
The first of the two was easy to mount and looked great.

However, on the second light, the pre drilled holes that connect the light to the backplate were rotated to the left, so when the light was installed on the wall, it was slanted. We had to drill another hole to correct for the slant.
We would have returned the lamps if we hadn't already mounted the first lamp (which happened to be perfect) and drilled holes into the wall for the second lamp.

These lamps are great for the price, especially if both are perfect instead of just one. Make sure to not assume that all the holes are perfectly vertically aligned.

Very nice lamps
They look great and were fairly easy to hang. Caution: I was very careful not to scratch the finish, but a dropped screw that I foolishly tried to catch on its way down actually scratched the finish of one lamp with practically no pressure applied. I advise you to tape protective cardboard over the lamp base while you are hanging it so you don't duplicate my mistake. It is so easily scratched!
I would give these lamps five stars if their cords were a couple of feet longer. As it is, I hung them 5' off the ground, and the cords reached the floor with only another 18" or so to get to the plug on the wall. ??

Nice lamps but not enough light
I didn’t realize the maximum wattage allowed was only about 40 Watts so the light isn’t great. The lamps are nice though

I like the finish and design of the wall mount but don't understand why I can't get it with a white shade instead. That option should be available.
