Beautiful, but has become noisy.
I searched high and low for a unique, attractive fan to replace a lighting fixture in my bedroom. I had considered alternatives from big box hardware stores, but I just couldn't pass up the beauty of the Muse ceiling fan.

The product appeared to be well made; the finishes were top notch and the construction and design of the fan were really well done. I did, however, run into issues when attaching the blades to the arms. One of the blades was a little too large, so I had to file out a small portion of the blade material to get it to seat properly on the arm. Either the mounting holes were not in the proper location, or the blade was just not cut out/sanded to the proper width.

Once the fan was installed it was beautiful. The light output was better than expected (100W halogen) and it was very quiet... for the first week. After the first week the fan started to make a very light rubbing noise, as if there was a sticking bearing. I was able to live with that, but a couple of days later the fan started to make a vibrating noise which I have pinpointed to the upper portion of the main fan body. It is too loud to ignore when trying to fall asleep. I am going to have to completely uninstall the fan to see if I can tighten some screws to get this to stop, and that is if I can even access or find what is causing the noise.

I am highly disappointed by this, as the $100.00 fan that I purchased from the big box hardware store hasn't made a single sound, nor have the dozens of others that I have installed in my relative's homes. With my current experience in mind, I can't say that I would recommend the fan, especially at this price point. At three times the price of my big box ceiling fans, this fan should be flawless.

Lots of form, light on the function
This light looks great in my mid-century living room. I was told that the fan is fairly strong, but with 10' ceilings, and a 12' stem, it didn't feel as strong as I have anticipated. At high speed, I get a light breeze, which isn't horrible. The 100W halogen gives off a decent amount of light for ambience, not for reading.

Pros: Looks great and modern, Balanced no wobbles, Quiet, Range of Speeds

Cons: Weak air ciculation, Not easy to install

Best Uses: Air Circulation, Smaller Rooms, Decorative

Looks great but...
Fell in love with the look of this fan. Should have paid more attention to Lamps Plus air circulation ratings. Just not enough power to really move air in our great room. The high setting seems more like a medium setting on other ceiling fans. After only a few years, the motor began to hum loudly and blades slowed down considerably. Recently, it just seized and stopped working. Thank God. Now I can get something that will actually work the way it supposed to. Should have bought a Casablanca...which is what will be replacing this one.

Pros: Attractive

Cons: Poor air circulation

Best Uses: Smaller Rooms, Decorative
