I have this light in my upstairs foyers and it's fabulous. Light hits the ceiling and bounces throughout the foyer. I feel it's plenty of light. Very much a contemporary fixture.

An electrician installed this fixture in my small, contemporary kitchen. The light is just gorgeous. It looks like a mini chandelier and makes light rays across the ceiling. The electrician thought it was high quality, was muttering during installation, but it seemed to go OK. I worry about bulb replacement. My kitchen is 12 x 16 and the light from this fixture is really too dim except to serve as enough light to pass through the room, but we had many other lights installed, under the counters, spots in alcoves, so it worked out. But I wouldn't recommend it as a single room light. Of all the remodeling work we've done in our house, this fixture gets the most oohs and aahs.

Hard to install, but worth the effort. Comes with one special silver light bulb- if no replacement is available for it the fixture may look bad with regular light bulb. Gives a good amount of illumination, is useful as well as decorative.

I bought two of these lights one for the hallway and one for the foyer. I love the way they look because they replaced ugly globes with brass trim and the new look is wonderful! The lights make an interesting pattern on the ceiling when on and still have interest when turned off. I llike them a lot:).

i didn't install this because even if i were an electrician, i probably wouldn't have been able to hold it up myself with one hand while wiring with the other--it's really heavy. my professional electrician was able to though. it's not very bright, but certainly creates a warm, welcoming glow in an entry area (might not do such a good job in a larger space, but then there's a bigger version for that). very high quality and beautiful design. casts beautiful shadow patterns on the ceiling.

Very attractive, electrician is recommended, I had a professionsl install this, it took him about 15 minutes, it might be difficult for a "do it yourself-er, it is heavy. The silver tipped bulb, reflects upward, and casts appealing shadow on the ceiling. I installed this in a hallway, and the 13" gives just enough light. I love mine.

Installation is really difficult. The fixture is very heavy and you need one person to hold it in place and another to screw in the screws. Only problem is that it is almost impossible to get a screwdriver and your fingers in the right position to screw them in, so it is almost impossible not to drop the screw but the person holding the fixture can't let go and take a rest because the electrical wires are connected. We ended up resting the fixture on a ladder raised to the right height with one person holding it in place but not having to hold the entire weight. We installed two of these and we were both sore for days after.IT WAS WORTH THE TROUBLE, THEY ARE UNUSUAL AND JUST STUNNING!
