Great next to a favorite reading chair, this floor lamp features an antique brass finish. The pharmacy-style shade adjusts easily allowing you to control the light throw. DOESN'T WORK FOR ME

After reading all the good reviews, I purchased this lamp. Unfortunately the upper pole doesn't slide into the lower (outer) part of the pole enough for arm to reach over a book. The arm of lamp is angled too high, and is also too short. So the light comes from above or behind me in a way that causes my shadow to block the paper. There is NO WAY to adjust it so I can see what I am writing - short of turning on my six overhead track lights (I got a reading lamp to avoid having to do this). To read, I can manipulate it only with difficulty - it is stiff and hard to adjust - into position for adequate light and often have to manipulate my book into the lamp's light instead. Despite my salesperson's assurances that the light was fully adjustable, it has only 2 settings, low and hi; plus It is very hard to turn its face away when I want a dim light to watch TV. I do not recommend this lamp.

See comments above. I use this lamp besides my bed for stitchery and reading. Its slender design makes it perfe ct for fitting into a small space. Adelivery was not involved, and so far, no service needed.

I purchased this lamp to use next to a comfortable armchair and ottoman I have in the dressing room area of my master bedroom. It's the perfect size and contemporary look and provides the right light, with two settings on the switch for the halogen bulb. I have purchased several light fixtures from Lamps Plus and have yet to be disappointed.

As a designer,Ive purchased many fixtures,and this pharmacy lamp is perfect for an unobtrusive task light for reading. Its decent quailty,yet lower priced than most with the same look.The finish is beautiful and mixes well with other metals.Although it states it as Antique Brass, its not the dated golden brass of yesteryear,its like a light bronzed finish..current and blends well.
