I have used this lamp to illuminate a piano keyboard in my son's bedroom. It works very well for this purpose. The lamp runs quite hot but is not a problem in the location I have it. The arms move horizontally not vertically so it is critical to position at the correct height when you install it.

Use it for reading in bed. Great design. Allows easy focused illumination exactly where needed. Angle can be easily changed. Two independent lights to accommodate individual needs of sleeping partners. Mounting kit was complete, with all parts needed--though no extra for mistakes. It was a bit challenging to install. Required somewhat forceful separation of backing cover/mounting bracket.

We like this lamp fine, but the directions were obviously written by someone with limited understanding of English and were generic in nature and not specific for this product. We pretty much had to figure out how to mount it on our own. Also, the hinged parts needed some lubrication to move smoothly - felt a little gritty at first. For this price, quality control could be better.

I am so glad that I made this purchase, the double lamp is just what I have been looking for. Now my wife and I can read in bed without having to get up to turn off the light. The lights are so maneuverable that they can be adjusted so the other person is not affected by the light if they are not reading & want to sleep. I cut out a piece of hardwood and mounted the lamp to the decorative metal on my headboard. (cutout wood circle behind the metal and lamp mount on the other side of the decorative metal, screwed & sandwiched together). The lamps adjust to different brightness. I love it, just perfect....
