I really like this fixture. It's very classic and elegant. It gives off a very diffused light. I bought it for my guest bedroom. I would have given it 5 stars but the color of the shade is a bit too yellow for me. In the picture it looks white but its not. Other than that I love it. I would also like to comment on Lamps Plus. I've bought all my light fixtures from them and they are always professional and super nice. The shipping is fast and if you have any problems they are there to help. A++++

Previous owner had used this space as a dining room - hence - there was a chandelier in the center of the room. I chose to convert the space to its original use as a living room, but was left with the task of providing a lighting fixture that would complement the room. I chose this semi-flush fixture for its appearance and style. It adds panache and a wonderful amount of diffused light that really sets off the room well. I am delighted with the result. I plan to add a dimmer to increase the ambiance depending on the occasion.

It looks so much nicer in person. The stock photo isn't very good. I wouldn't even have ordered it except that I saw a better photo on another retailer's site. The shade is not white and smooth, but a warmer ivory color and a linen texture. You don't see the crystal ball on top when looking up at the light. You have to stand back quite a bit to really see it so I don't think you could fully appreciate this light in a tiny area. Finial (on the bottom) is chrome, not crystal. So pleased with the amount of light (3 60-watt bulbs), without glare because of the glass diffuser on the bottom. The metal part and the glass ball look and feel solid. It's a quality product.

I wish this looked like the picture. The drum shade is advertised as cream and it is VERY cream. The photo makes it look like a light cream, almost white, but it is much darker.
