Artistic Design, Add A Con, Good Size, Easy to Clean, Well Built, Area of Illumination
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I purchased two buffet lamps, this one and one from Possini. Both are attractive and it was very difficult to choose between the two, albeit there was a $40.00 price differential. This one has a more artistic shape to the bell and some scrollwork near the top. This bell is very slightly pink whereas the Possini is slightly yellow when illuminated with the same 60 watt 'Reveal' bulb in each simultaneously next to one another for comparison purposes. This bell is also slightly thinner, allowing for more light to enter the room. However, it is not so thin as to allow you to see the type of bulb or receive glare from the bulb.
I have not yet tried a dimmable LED bulb in this lamp, but a regular light bulb provides for some downward light in addition to side and upward light whereas a high-necked CFL or early style LED provides only side light and up-lighting and in the case of the latter, only up-lighting. Thus, if you want light to go downward as well as out to the sides and upward, use a good, old fashioned, regular-shaped light bulb.
This lamp comes with a bell collar on the inside of the bell to keep it in place. The collar is of better workmanship and style/material than the Possini and its label indicates that a 75 watt bulb can be used in this lamp, not a 60 watt bulb as the write up states. Unfortunately, there is no in-line dimmer as the write up states. There is however an in-line 'on-off' switch, but this is not the same as an in-line 'dimmer' switch.
It took ten days for delivery, but that was not a problem in this case.
