Great Design, Poor Construction

Great design but poorly manufactured. The holding screw for the lamp stem and its allen wrench were loose in the box -- almost missed them. The directions said to push the extra cord into the post and then slide it onto the base. This was impossible on my unit. I was able to remove the felt base, unscrew the protective cover and pull the extra cord into the base. Finally, the holding screw would not tighten on the post. I even went to the store and bought a longer holding screw -- still wouldn't tighten the post. I can make do without the post tight on the base because I don't need to lift it from where I plan to use it. But this is poorly constructed by any measure. Lamps Plus needs to have a serious conversation with the manufacturer on this item.

It's a great looking lamp and gives off great light. It's a pretty big lamp, and I didn't realize how large it is.
