Nice Lamp but Buy a Dimmer

We have owned these for a few years and are using them as bedside lamps, the look is awesome, very retro and modern at the same time. My biggest advice, buy a separate dimmer switch. After a year of more, I finally did this and should have listened to other reviewers way earlier. The order of the light is the nightlight then the main light then the two together and then off, it was always too bright to see the big light after being soothed to bed with the nightlight. With the dimmers, we leave the nightlight and main light on together and just increase the brightness up and down. Problem solved! Also a little surprising was how light weight the lamps are. There is really not a lot of weight to them since the white part is not glass. This ended up fine for us since we have small children that can get restless and knock things over and no worries with these since they will not break. Overall happy with these after years of searching for the perfect light.

Nightlight Feature Is Great

I bought this to use on my bedside table. I'm only using one bedside lamp and so I wanted something that would stand out and not blend into the background. The design and size of this lamp does this perfectly and it works with my contemporary decor despite being mid-century. The shade is bigger then I expected but this only poses a slight issue because I have curtains directly behind the lamp. The best feature is the built in nightlight. Access to the light in my bedroom is in an ackward position and leaving the nightlight on at night helps solve this issue. It hasn't bothered me that you must turn on the light brigther to turn it off completly but I knew about that before purchasing based on the reviews.

I've got two for my bedroom. They look very stylish and give a whole room a touch of elegance. The only thing that could be improved - the night light on/off routine. Currently to turn it off one has to go through the turning on the main light. For the designers - it's a great lamp, I just wish you'd made a separate switch for the night light bulb. Then the lamp would be absolutely perfect. Nevertheless it's a great product. I am not taking it back to the store. :)

I was able to turn a somewhat drab guest room into a glamorous retreat with these lights as my inspiration point. They are contemporary and stylish without being "dated". I just love them.

I absolutely love the look of this lamp! I bought two for each bedside table since they were so reasonably priced and they frame the bed and add so much to the bedroom. They were a little lighter than I expected, but still fairly well made and I wouldn't call them flimsy. I haven't tried cleaning or changing the bulbs yet, however.

These lamps are awesome especially if you are looking for a midcentury look. They are well worth the money. The only con is that if you are using the nightlight feature you have turn the full light on before you can switch it off.

These may not be best bedside unless you have a California king bed and stunning bedding. I have both so they compliment the look I was wanting.

Beautiful and Versatile Lamp
By Becky Verified Purchaser from Conifer, CO on 5/2/2011
Pros:
Easy to Clean, Good Size, Well Built, Artistic Design
Cons:
Flow of light odd
Best Uses:
Reading, Bedside, Decoration
Describe Yourself:
Stylish, High-End Shopper
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Beautiful light and is very versatile. The only complaint I have is the flow of light is jarring. Meaning: the night light feature is the first to turn on, then bright main bulb w/ nightlight, then bright bulb solely. The problem is the nightlight sets a relaxing mood and your eyes get used to that brightness, but in order to turn off the light, you have to go through the bright circuit. I hope that makes sense!

Lamps Plus Response: Hi Becky! Thanks so much for the feedback. We talked to our table lamp buyer and he had this to say: "Thanks for bringing this to our attention. As of now, all sockets for nightlight lamps are made: top on, bottom on, both on, all off. However, I will ask if they could be wired to have the bottom light on first." Great idea Becky and thanks for getting in touch. --The LAMPS PLUS Team.
