This floor lamp is beautiful when it is on or off. When lit it creates a beautiful warm glow that is very relaxing.
Great lamp, nice diffused lighting
don't think you will read near this one.
This light looks great and very contemporary, but can be almost too bright with 3 bulbs. I bought the lowest wattagae I could, with 11 watt compact flourescent bulbs but lesser would have even been sufficient if I could have found any.
Design fits well with our Frank Lloyd Wright inspired, craftsman room. The thick linen lampshade cuts off an amazing amount of light and adds a very warm tint, but with the brightest and whitest compact flourescents I could find, there's enough light to read by if you sit next to the lamp. Recommended for accent lighting and dark corners. This is a BIG lamp, not for small rooms or the faint of heart.Images/Videos shared by: Dave from Rockville
I purchased this lamp to put in my private practice. I love the stylish look of this lamp in my contemporary styled office.
Looks very contemporary which is the look I was after. Plus it matches the chandelier that I bought so together, they both look great.
I have never had an accent lighting piece before but I have redone my house in a contemporary look and this is beautiful.
I am quite pleased with this floor lamp. I bought two to stand at each end of a large dining table in a sunroom, and they are lovely at night, casting a soft, diffuse light onto the ceiling and around the perimeter. The shade is stiff and seems robust, 'should withstand a little bumping without buckling or collapsing. My only criticisms are that (1) the shade absorbs a lot of light, so the light is rather dim even with bright bulbs, and (2) the unit has a floor dimmer switch, which is well-suited to old-fashioned incandescent lamps, but is ill-suited to modern CFL's. I took the dimmer switches out of the circuit and replaced them with simple floor on-off switches in extension cords from [...].
I planned to buy it for the living-room. I chose it for the contemporary look. But it does not light up the room enough (even though my LVR is not big). The linen shade is very thick and blocks a lot of the light. I ended up returning it [...] Ouch! But I can't stand it, the room was too dark.
