I used this light above a breakfast bar in the kitchen. It is very attractive. I assembled it and had an electrician install. With the assembly it was difficult to get the curved glass pieces attached without gaps. You have to be careful not to tighten the screws too tight that they crank the glass. Installation was not that difficult but adjusments were difficult until we determined how to adjust. The electrician and I must have worked on adjustment after installing for quite some time. At first you could see the light bulbs between the sides and bottom glass. The key is to adjust the metal rod in the middle so it pulls the glass base higher. It seems logical that the glass base should sit on the metal edges that hold the curved glass together. This is not true. When you adjust the inside rod to pull the glass base higher you do not see the bulbs and the glass does not rest on the metal edges. You will want to screw the inside rod higher into the ceiling for your adjustment. I hope this helps save you installation time.

I bought this light for a small foyer with lower ceiling to brighten it up. My house is a 1970's dark dungeon so this is the perfect style. We love the final look of the fixture it was just super complicated to assemble. As the previous review stated there are ZERO directions that come with this fixture so be prepared to figure it out on your own. First we started to assemble and the glass panels would not all fit so we had to disassemble and carefully try to redo while standing on a ladder and attaching one glass panel at a time. We wound up with one broke and will be contacting Lamps Plus for replacement. This light should come partially assembled to avoid breakage!
I ordered this to use in my bedroom, which had no overhead light source. My room is 12 ft x 14 ft and it really illuminates every corner! I had to dock one star for the assembly. It was a little time-consuming, as each of the side panels comes totally separate. I started screwing the panels together as it was a much easier angle to get the to screws on the side, and after I had almost gotten 3/4 through the panels I realized that it would not align at all with the base. I had to unscrew and screw them onto the base instead, THEN screw the panels together. I hope that makes sense and helps anyone buying this! I'd say it took me a little over an hour. It would have taken me less time if I had done it correctly from the start, but I didn't see any assembly instructions! Those would have made the process much less frustrating. Also, be careful! I cracked one of the panels while screwing it to another panel. You can't see it, but I was so scared that I broke it when I heard that crack! The bottom is also pretty hard to get on and off as it's such a tight fit, not much wiggle room, so I hope my bulbs last a long time. It makes for a great look, though, as you don't see the exposed bulbs.
