Just like Sunshine without the Heat!!!
This is the best replacement for those who like the bright, soft, non-glare, illumination the bounces off the ceiling (i.e. 300-500w halogen lamps) without the high heat hazard and energy consumption (it only uses three-26 watt bulbs compared to the old 300-500w halogen bulbs).

Pros: Brightest indirect light, Area Of Illumination, Artistic Design, Minimal Heat, Minmal power consumption

Cons: One ONE lamp stylefinish

Best Uses: Decoration, Dark Corners

Outstanding illumination
Excellent glare-free illumination, perfect for reading but also can light a medium-sized room. One minor quibble: on/off switch should be higher -- I'm 5'10" and it requires me to bend my knees somewhat to reach it.

Pros: Area Of Illumination, Artistic Design

Best Uses: Reading, Bedside

works surprisingly well
While it seems a bit pricey for what it is, it does a tremendous job of adding indirect light to a room. especially nice in warmer months as it does not generate the intense heat of a halogen.

Pros: Area Of Illumination, More than one setting, Low energy use

Handsome and sturdy for public space
This is used in the lounge area of an apartment building for independent seniors. Good looks and safety are major concerns. This fits the bill.

Pros: Artistic Design, Area Of Illumination, Heavy stable base, Convenient On/Off

Concrete weight in base disintegrated
I have 3 floor lamps from this designer. They put out a good amount of light.
But the concrete weight in the base of one of them disintegrated. Without the weight the lamp is quite top heavy. I'm still trying to figure out how to reweight the base so I can use the lamp. I like the lamp a lot, and it wasn't cheap

Pros: Good Size, Area of Illumination

Cons: Flimsy Construction

Pros: Long Cord, Convenient On/Off, Artistic Design, Easy To Clean, Area Of Illumination, Easy To Change Bulb

Cons: No complaints

Best Uses: Dark Corners, Bedside, Reading, Decoration

Lots o' Light!
I wanted a fluorescent torchiere-type lamp that would light my whole family room brightly. (I used to use a 500-watt halogen, but wanted to save energy.) This lamp, the only one I could find bright enough, fills the bill very nicely.

Pros: Area Of Illumination, Convenient On/Off

Best Uses: Reading, Dark Corners, Light up a whole room

Pros: Area Of Illumination, Amount of Illumination, Convenient On/Off, Long Cord

Best Uses: Reading, Dark Corners, Embroidery

Blaster vs Halogen
Gives good indirect light for the whole room but not quite as much as the 300 watt Halogen that it replaced. 300 watt Halogens are no longer available so it is the best that I have found to replace one. It would be nice if it came in Black as well as the Silver. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to light a whole room with indirect light.

Pros: Good Size, Easy Assembly, Sturdy
