Defective lamp and bulb.

Cons:
Poor Quality

The receptacle for the bulbs was mounted crooked so that one of the four bulbs stuck out above the glass shade and the bulb on the opposite side was touching the glass shade. It screwed onto a threaded shaft and it seemed to be cross threaded so it could not be fixed. Also, one the bulbs that was included was adefective and flickered and buzzed. One of the decorative rods was bent at the top and it looked like it left the factory that way and was not a result of shipping damage. The switch felt pretty cheap and wobbly too. It is big and bulky and repackaging and returning it is a big job. Looks good and puts out a lot of light, but the quality is poor.

I previously used halogen lamps to light up dark areas, this lamp is so much better. It provides equal or better lighting without the heat or energy consumption. I find it a little pricey, but all in all it is worth it. I am very pleased.

Beautiful lamp with some drawbacks

First the pros - This is a beautiful floor lamp and seems to be well made. It arrived fully assembled and all I had to do was put the shade on and install the bulbs. So now the drawbacks - The lamp comes with four 26 Watt CFL bulbs (125 Watt equivalent). The bulbs have what is called a GU24 base with two pins for locking them in rather than a screw-in base. Not a problem, except that these bulbs cost more than twice as much as the others at the local hardware store and the selection is not as good. Further, with the wattage provided, the light is way too harsh and bright for what I want. I have replaced the bulbs with 13 watts (60 watt equivalent) and found that three bulbs were sufficient and work pretty well. I would have preferred 9 watt bulbs (40 watt equivalent) but could not find them. So now I'm stuck with about $30+ of the higher wattage bulbs that I don't need and can't use elsewhere. I wish they had just sent the lamp without the bulbs and let me decide what strength to use. Also, the lamp has a multi-level switch, turning on 1, 3, or all four bulbs. This is fine except with only one bulb on, the light throws a shadow of other bulbs onto the shade so that it looks like you have burned out bulbs in it and spoils the aesthetics. This is not an issue in the other settings with more bulbs on. Oh, one more thing - the original shipment came without the shade. These things happen, and Lamps Plus customer service was great in shipping the shade promptly and with little trouble. 5 stars for customer service.

We needed a torchiere lamp for our living room that would give ample light. We bought two of these lamps, one for each side of the room. They have three levels of light choices and they light up the room fantastic. I love the design, simple yet stylish. I also love that they have florescent bulbs for better efficiency.

I wanted an energy saving fluorescent floor lamp that would light up an entire room like my old halogen did. This lamp does. Turning the switch several times determines how many bulbs go on for the light setting you desire ( instead of using a dimmer). It uses (4) small 26 watt fluorescent bulbs. I have not had to replace a bulb yet, so not sure if this wattage and style of bulb is easy to find. All I can say at this point is it's so uplifting to be in a room filled with light during these darker winter days. My only complaint - I didn't have much choice in design of lamp in this style (that uses fluorescent bulbs). The other lamps in this style have dimmers - can't use fluorescent bulbs with a dimmer. And yes, I would buy this lamp again.
