The light is described as brushed nickel, but it is actually a polished finish- most likely chrome. It is, however, quite beautiful, if one does not look too closely. The metal framework is not even/level all the way around, so the light looks slightly tilted depending on the viewing angle. This can be somewhat corrected, but not eliminated, by adjusting the hanging cables. Additionally, the glue used to attach the fabric to the frame is highly visible when the lit.

The Planetarium is a lot of look! We did it over our great room dining area, with a large table beneath it. Everyone is drawn to it, in a room full of modern statements. We couldn't be happier with this purchase. The materials look expensive and the design aesthetic is great if you have the space for it. An important rule is to remember that when you get these things in your home, they almost always look bigger then in the showroom. If you plan ahead, the great piece you buy is a great piece in the room. We love it!
