We were going to use the light as a small "torchiere" type of lighting so we could hide it in a corner and still have a type of accent lighting in our formal living room. Unfortunately, the item runs VERY hot and I was not comfortable leaving it on or even with a timer. We have decided to keep it and see if we can find another use for it.
