Well made and stylish for price. Chrome-like base is a solid cast piece without the unsightly gaping corners or sharp seams and edges of some inexpensive lamps and broad enough to balance and correctly proportion the lamp. I can almost overlook the two small areas of abrasion on its finish. Because cord is clear, it nicely fades from view. Finial is too small for lamp size. Last and most important, some clarification on the shade's color, since color is the crux of this lamp, and color names are subjective and in the mind of the beholder. See the differences in color in the photos of the bijoux table and floor lamp shades from the bijoux swag and sold-separately drum shades? The color in the photos of the swag and the separate drum are accurate!

Just got this lamp out of the box-thought the box was a little light weight-arrived in perfect condition. Super simple to put together. The purple shade is a true deep purple-NOT pinkish at all. Love the shape of the shade. Love the finish. My only complaint is that the 'baubles' down the stem of the lamp-I wish they were just clear and purple-but the light yellow, light, light minty green and an orangeish amberish colors are something I can live with!
This lamp is for my living room (I am 37)-purple is my favorite color and I wanted to add a little whimsy to my room and this does it. Many of the other reviews use this lamp in a child/teens room-It is front and center in my home. Off to buy the matching floor lamp. Best purchase I've made in a long time!

This light was purchased as a bedside fixture in a vacation home. The room is decorated in lavendar & purple, & is fairly small, so this was a really good fit. My teen daughter who is heading off to college soon likes it too. Her dorm room colors, tho, are greens & blues. This lamp exceeded my expectations by a long shot. It is very well made. I use it in my guest room on a side table by a rocker. It gives plenty of light to read by. The colors are vivid. Everyone loves it!!! Even my grandsons said it is beautiful. They wanted it to stay on for a night light but it is a little too bright for that.
